The Real Effects of Hair Loss on Self-Esteem

When you start to lose your hair, particularly at a young age, it can seem like your world is falling apart. Why is it happening to me? Why aren’t my friends losing theirs? Then there are the confidence issues that come with this. Will I be as happy? Can I face dating if I’m losing a key part of the way I look?

For millions of men, this is an uncomfortable truth. After all, it happens to a great majority, and many will simply face this journey alone. The often intangible way you perceive yourself is something that you have to be at peace with; otherwise, it can stop you from doing the things in life you’d really like to. This means that many men who were previously outgoing, happy and confident can end up feeling anxious, depressed and feeling low.

By the age of 35, up to 40% of men suffer from visible hair loss. And when they reach 60, this susceptibility jumps to a shocking 65%.

So what can be done?

It often seems like fate. Many men simply embrace it, either choosing to ignore the effects or fully committing to a bald head and its appearance. Others are not so accepting of this and will struggle to get used to a seemingly alien, uncomfortable, and unwanted situation.

Losing your hair can be distressing, whether it be sudden due to medical conditions such as alopecia or the gradual, looming nature of male pattern baldness. In a society where losing your hair is seen as unusual, especially at a young age, but is a fact of life, what steps can you take to meet this situation head-on?

There’s a lot to be said for a positive mental attitude when it comes to dealing with hair loss. Mind over matter only gets you so far, though. The very real effects of losing hair can make you feel like you are the only one dealing with your own trauma, and you will no doubt question your feelings and overall mood as being valid.

Should I start treating my hair loss right away?

In a word, yes.

The later you leave hair loss to progress, the more difficult it will be to regrow new hairs.

There are a variety of DHT blocking shampoos, natural home remedies and other alternative treatments available these days. However, certain treatments have shown to produce genuine great results and reverse hair loss for those with MPB.

Finasteride is a well-known treatment for Male Pattern Baldness. It can be ingested orally in a tablet form or applied directly to the scalp (Topical Finasteride). Finasteride works to stop the conversion of Testosterone into DHT.

Minoxidil is another key treatment. It is a topical solution that works to deliver nutrients to hair follicles, increasing the hairs in size and causing them to thicken.

The Unthin Treatment

We’ve combined Finasteride and Minoxidil to make the most effective solution possible. Our head spray is easily applied and won’t give your hair that greasy, wet look that some other solutions are guilty of providing.

Many other available treatments provide Finasteride in tablet form, which has caused concerns about adverse side effects experienced by some men. However, Unthin’s treatment spray is applied directly to the source of hair loss. This means the potential side effects are minimal and the treatment has an increased success rate.
